No Captcha image

Hallo,

I have installed both Easybook and EasyCaptcha on my  site.
On the guestbook-entry form, the captcha fields are there, but there is no captcha image.
What could be wrong?

Directory permissions???

I've read that even with EasyCaptcha the Easybook is vulnerable to spam. Any suggestions how to prevent this?

Hello!

I had this problem also. I installed the Easy Captcha component on another virtual server and there the component was working well. So I took a look at the mysql database. Comparing the two databases (the one of my hosting provider and the one on my virtual server) I got the result that there were missing following tables:
- jos_easycaptchas
- jos_easycaptchas_dpaulus
- jos_easycaptchas_secimg

I simply made an export of the tables and imported it to the database of my hosting provider. Now Easy Captcha works there also

I made the experience that there were also SPAM with the secimg Captcha. But with the dpaulus captchas there were no SPAM entries. So I suggest to use the dpaulus captcha ;-)

Hallo Ethan,

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked and I have all the right tables in the database.
However, in my development-environment I do have entries in the jos_easycaptchas_dpaulus table and in the live site (with my hosting provider) there weren't any. I've even tried copying an entry manually, but that didn't work either.

Did you also check the files in the easy captcha component directory? I had one time the problem that some files weren't uploaded correctly. Simply overwriting these files again solved the problem...
