captcha patch

I have been wondering why the captcha did not show up in joomla's contact component.
it is said to work in the joomla extension directory.
I could see that there is a topic about a patch, but posted 2 weeks ago.
please , let us download and test it, it would be a good point for us to come again to this website.
or was it just a marketing issue for to draw traffic to it? .Hope not, then such a component would be warmly welcome.

Hello,

I know I'm coming into this discussion a little late but I was wondering if the patch (which works PERFECLTY on 2 of my sites) could be made to work on a Joomla 1.0.12 site?

I have installed it and everything is there EXCEPT the actual image.

Any suggestions?
